1 Apr 2005 12:02 pmMy mum earlier promised me that she’ll give me RM9k from the Amanah Saham investment which was in for a pretty long time – if I get straight As for my SPM.
It came rather suddenly, so I was surprised… I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but recently I realised that I’m studying all these for my own benefit – even though I’m stuck in the wrong stream – and not for anybody else. Plus I’m skeptical I can get straight fucking As anyway. :) I am no Amalinananana who can slave around books, so..that’s it.
The reason why she told me that is because she wants me to get straight As (who wouldn’t, if it’s that easy). I’m not willing to leave my social, Internet, fun life to slave in front of books, to get the straight As that probably wouldn’t matter once I start working, or start up my own business, or travel aboard. It’s just a little badge that doesn’t say anything. Although the RM9k is..tempting. :)

9k is a lot i must say. true, spm cert is but a paper. why judge a person merely through a piece of filthy paper?(ok, maybe not so filthy but..)

Hehe, yeah. That’s how it is..the sad sad mentality of almost all parents. And teachers. And students (sadly). Bleh.

piece of paper or not, it’s still has some importance… anyway, you wont throw away your life to score straight A’s… all you need to do is just be more discipline in studying and you will do fine… no book slavery needed… just character..
