Scholarship bites.

The night after I got back from Tioman, me, Jess, Ding, Kai Tzin and Shawn went to Tanjung for a brief mamak. It’s brief; I’ve to pick up Esther and Kai Shen from their Care group thingy at 10.30pm, so the session ended at 11.40pm in about one hour plus. Had to be back early as the next day I’ve a scholarship interview at Sin Chew.

If you expected a joyful low-down on all the gritty details of the interview, you’re sorely mistaken.

I reached the place at about 8.45am, when the interview was due to start at 9.30am. It’s a large hall with 20 over booths from various colleges, and when I reached there, there was already 3 other people in queue ahead of me. So I’m number 4 (for some reason, I encounter the number four pretty often).

My interview only came at about 11.15am, and it’s so bloody short, like 10 minutes, when others took ages. I was nervous, so I stuttered my way through the stupid introduction (“tell us about yourself”, like, that’s so general, yo). For some reason, I must’ve made myself sound like a sympathy-whore ‘cause I kept repeating about me having a Down Syndrome brother and my mum who recovered from nose cancer.

Then came the list of topics I have to talk about - “choose between the numbers 1, 2 and 3”, and I chose 2. It’s about travelling.

I thought that such a topic I am passionate about will get me talking, but being nervous and all, I had some kind of mental block and ended up stating very briefly why I want to travel to UK and China. Boo. I mentioned my previous Tioman and Langkawi trips as well, which probably have nothing to do at all with the question concerned.

..so yeah, I don’t know if I have even the slightest chance of scoring this scholarship (the old dude said something about the scholarship being competitive and all, while the Indian lady remained quiet all the time), but judging by my interview, I probably would get an all-expense paid trip to Miserableville.

I so hate my inability to talk.

Went to Shawn’s Lakeview club that same night (yesterday), with Heng, Jess and Esther. We thought we had successfully get past all the guards, but since the gym is strictly members-only, both Heng and I (who weren’t members), kena halau. Jess who wasn’t a member as well tak kena. <_<

So Esther, Heng and I swam at the highly-chrolinated pool. Nothing much, just needed a brief, relaxing exercise.

Esther and Jess, after finish cleaning ourselves up.

We went to A&W near 3K for a bite/drink, and stayed up till 11.30pm.

Edit: Finally re-editted all my old entries I ported from blogspot (there are two other old blogs I have yet to port from, that will come soon when I have absolutely nothing better to do <_<) so they all should display correctly now, pictures and all. Feel free to check up my posts since August 2005; some of them are rather emo-ish, but heck.. the good ol’ days.
