26 Jun 2006 3:54 pmSo this week my life as a college student official begins, since our tutorials and lectures are finally starting ‘officially’.
Impressions on lecturers/tutors today:
- Ms Tina
The moment she stepped in scowling I knew she’d be strict, but this 40+ year-old tutor has a distinctive style of teaching in which she gave multiple amusing real-life examples just to get a point across - which had the class laugh and probably best for us to remember. She’s a tutor for class AC2 for the subject Introductory Academic English, a subject I disliked so far the moment it was introduced to us considering how you have to un-learn your writing styles and make it suit a single one: academic writing. Yawngroanmock.
Writing essays short and concise is so not my style, but then again the essays would be factual and hopefully I don’t have that many probs to adjust.
And she’s one of the only lecturers/tutors who don’t allow the textbook to be photocopied - strangely enough she didn’t say “no” directly, but used words like “I don’t want to give permission” so I’ll use that to my advantage and bring my already-photocopied textbook along anyway (I don’t need her permission to bring my books to the class, you know), since I cleverly and semangat-ly photocopied as many textbooks in my book list as I could. -___- And that photocopied English book costs RM40. =_____=
- Ms Loo
She’s our Microeconomics tutor, and speaks so fast as if she has a train to catch. Her English is impeccable and impressive (and not pretentious as some people can be), and since this subject is my favourite, think I’ll revise really hard for it (and economics is also known as the science of choice, how beautifully worded is that! Bet you didn’t know!). She’s probably my favourite tutor at the moment.
If I kena sound again from Ms Tina tomorrow for the English lecture, I guess I’ll have to find a way to get rid of the photocopied book. Bloody hell. >_<
Would have written more, like how we are beginning to segregrate our classmates among ourselves, but that will come later as I’m gonna go for a quick read on Econs I missed reading last week, especially since I spent the entire afternoon/evening/night updating HS.
