Sopranos

Came “late” to school. Ah well. Didn’t escape via back gate as I cycled right inside the school compound before realising that students were lining up, standing still, to the school song.

~____~

Still sick, and the pills I ate that my dad gave me (I assume they are Panadols, with a very different name) ALWAYS keep me awake at night. I didn’t go poof on the bed the moment I lie down - like HL said I would - but maybe they’re not even Panadols. *shrugs*

There was a rehearsal for the upcoming Awards Day, which I find pretty stupid considering that the majority of us are mature teens who probably don’t need to be taught how to be polite when receiving a prize. Seriously… it’s like back to kindergarten learning manners.

While I skipped the rehearsal to sleep/rest in class, Miss Then commented that I should stay at home instead… and we ended up chatting (with my classmates) about movies. Movies. We discussed about Kingdom of Heaven and I related what I watched from the movie, and she seemed pretty interested. We discussed about the Crusades, the Muslims and the European Christians and she asked who won the war in the movie (they drew, but technically the Muslims won since they were allowed to capture Jerusalem), talked about the past and present Jerusalem… pretty interesting topic to talk about to a TEACHER >_>

Sometimes I just can’t install it into my mind that teachers are still humans, and they do live somewhere else apart from schools.

Then she commented that Mr and Mrs Smith should be a nice show (I went o____O at this injuncture), and I concurred. Discussed about the Star Wars trilogy too.

Very, very interesting. :P

Speaking of teachers, another one is added in my ‘BITCHES WITH AN ITCH’ list. Pn Hafsah! Congratulations for the unexpected entry!

Both Jon and I were summoned into the staff room earlier today, and on entering, she asked why weren’t we looking for her yesterday as she wants to give us the CD to burn some pics for the stupid Awards Day. She gave us this ‘hi-i’m-a-newly-crowned-bitch!’ look, and I remembered clearly HER saying that SHE will call us yesterday if she is not too busy. And we ourselves have our own lessons to busy ourselves over, so we didn’t look for her.

She then asked, “boleh tak kamu tolong saya? tak paksa ni” or something to that effect. I said I have no problems, but she then lectured/semi-scolded us for not looking for her yesterday and now “tak cukup masa nak burn CD untuk saya”. WTF. You want us to do your fucking work, and you don’t ask nicely eh?

We both reiterated that we were busy, and the bitch said, “saya pernah menjadi pelajar, kamu tak mungkin sesibuk saya.” At that point she deserved to be slapped and her face scratched with the words “Your OLD generation is obviously less busier than our current MODERN one.” I replied defiantly (would have been more rebellious but I have to keep myself in check in a SCHOOL), “ala..cikgu tak tahu je.”

She then asked once more whether we would be busy enough not to help her, and Jon replied YES WE’RE BUSY (minus the screaming connotations). We then walked off.

Didn’t do ANY studying in school today apart from singing to the guitar being played in my class, trying out the guitar, teaching Janoah the tunes to certain songs (she’s selected to sing during Teacher’s Day), and making a perfect grafitti on the blackboard.

I encountered a group of students after school (while waiting for Jon’s class to end at 2pm – ours got off at 1.20pm ‘cause of Pn Kan’s most wanted absence), who were really good singers and even this Form 1 Malay kid with the name Harley (either he’s of mixed parentage or the Malays are getting more liberal :)), who sang… with a quiver in his voice (albeit a bit girlish, imo). Apparently he’s a soprano, along with Janoah.

Practice for our three-person “band” today was about a good 20 minutes – too short but okay. I need more practice with Jon with my shaker/maraca thingy (a bottle with some grain of rice inside). Got a bit obsessive with trying to get it perfect for the audition tomorrow, so I went on a massive The-Good-Kind-hunting – almost obsessive (I downloaded an episode from One Tree Hill [360MB+] just to see how The Wreckers’ preformance [hopefully acoustic] is).

I pray the audition will go fine. Heard there will only be 6 performances anyway >_>
