SPM Day 10: Finale

Right now, my mind is in a dire state of collapse (excuse any horrible grammatical mistakes I might make) that nothing would be better than savouring the air-conditioner in my room as I wrap myself tight and warm in my comforter. But I have this obligation, this promise I made to myself that I shall blog daily unless some other extremely urgent matters take prority over this frivolous thing called blogging.

But today’s events (or if you want to get technical since it’s after midnight – yesterday, but I’ll stick to ‘today’ for convenience’s sake) are none too trivial. Today marks the beginning of the end of SPM, the new arrival of freedom and the path where future boredom begins.

I am somewhat excited at that prospect, but that’s about it. If anything, I rather enjoyed the entire SPM process because we at least had a goal, or had something in mind. We would go out daily to fast food restaurants to study diligently (or discuss our holiday plans), sit for exams and listen to the same set of instructions from our comical head invigilator, and so on.

Now that we’re free, instead of having unlimited goals on where to go after SPM – hang out at various designated lepaking areas – we are sorely limited by the moolah at hand..and friends to go with.

This is as I was told a stark contrast compared to fellow SPMers from Sri KL.

Let’s begin this series of events chronologically.

Got up in the morning as usual to attend our final papers – EST. Yeah sure, there were format change and whatnot but they weren’t too hard. In between the two papers, we had a break and we utilised it to fool about.

As you noticed in the background (let’s just ignore the two in the foreground with their OMGKAWAIINE~! poses), it just rained. The usual omfg-heavy-rain and the next 2 minutes it completely stopped.

Everyone was basically lounging about, chatting away rather than studying EST. >_>

Son Goten and Trunks. You might wanna guess who is who.

My only and final group pic from school. Boohoo.

Took the opportunity to snap a picture of Shawn before EST Paper II began.

We were also allowed to snap pics right after our final paper. How kind of ‘em! I have always thought invigilators would be high-and-mighty and follow strictly by the rules.. (coughrubycough) so that’s absolutely sporting of them.

Yet another view. I sit right behind Ah Sa (girl 2nd from front, most right) in this picture.

The invigilators preparing to finalise the collection of papers.

Head invigilator. Has a good sense of humour.

I think our school’s rather lucky that we have these jovial type of invigilators, like the female teacher who looked liked she was of mixed parentage.

There was also this small incident in which my exam slip flew out of the hall during Bio after a gust of wind snatched it. Raised up my hand, dude on the right in that picture came and picked it up for me, before passing a remark, “Hati-hati nanti kau pula terbang” laughingly. Not that I’m offended; I laughed at that tiny joke politely and just amused that these supposedly ‘serious’ invigilators would actually take time to joke around.

I simply can’t imagine Pn. Kan, currently head invigilator for SMK Seafield, doing all that. And to continue…

Head invigilator doing some paperwork and wrapping up.

So right after that, we went home before I did a quick shower, changed, go out again by Shawn’s car with Heng to the bank to deposit some money I’ve been leaving in my room for far too long (especially since Bank Negara announced an increase in interests to curb rising inflation [economy stuffs – fun!]).

Then we went straight to Maju&Maju to join the girls and Ryui Bynn for talk/lunch (ate Esther’s since she offered :D), went to my house to wait for me as I ate my lunch while the rest had a nice convo with my mum, then out again to the cyber-cafe behind my house.

Had a fun time at Gunz too. >=) Especially since I..practically killed a lot ever since I bought a new weapon.

Then went to Secret Recipe to collect my dad’s cake, Shawn dropped me off at my house, waited for my dad to return home before I presented the cake and we all sang the traditional ‘Happy Birthday’ as every birthdays should have.

The celebrated man. I like this picture – has some kinda artistic feel to it, since it’s done without flash thus preserving the picture’s actual colours.

Then went makan at Flaming J’s, Taipan. Yeah I belanja my dad but in a hutang kinda way while awaiting my cheque to go through, total bill raked up was RM150+ but it was worth it I guess. Ate this Grilled Alaskan Snowfish; the serving was huge (this being American food and all) and the Asian me looked tiny against it. The white fillet, with a distinct taste vastly different from normal fish, makes it an excellent dish. With two nice fried potatoes and purple salad.

Fast-forward everything else, went out again at 9pm with my trusty, bouncy Serena to pick up Heng and Shawn at their houses, then Andy, Esther and Adrian at opposite Carrefour.

We went to SS2 to get a bite and a drink at Murni. Shawn and I crossed this extremely dark walkway near the shoplots, and right beside the darkened path was a truckload of rubbish. We weren’t aware of anything at all, until the translucent voice of Andy’s hovered behind us, “Shawn, siu keong” did we look down at our feet.

Four, five, six, an entire hive of cockroaches were crawling about and both Shawn and I made a dash forward. It was downright disgusting.

The moment we reached Murni, it started to rain. Bad luck – but not really. It’s hard to give you an account of how Murni’s traffic of customers looked like, but it spanned at least more than fifteen shoplots combined by placing tables and chairs at the walkway.

People started running for cover.

Finally got tables for ourselves, then some man showed up to give free Malaysia Today newspaper.

While waiting for our food to arrive.

The odd-looking car plate hanging near above us.

Our drinks! Rather rad, eh? The concept is unique, as well as the funky-tasting (in Heng’s words) thirst-quencher.

My roti Hawaii, rofl. I was so fucking full I could only eat half of it – yeah, which I’m wondering right now why I even ordered it in the first place.

Poseth.

Euphoric couple.

Drove back at 11pm. Was tired, and had to drop everyone else at their own homes. Finally, after Adrian got off (and we got to see this really cute pup he found), brought Esther back.

...not before this huge cement mixer vehicle which was right in front of us, decided to do a U-turn near Petronas behind my house. It was slightly daunting, as my legs and back began to tire and ache, but managed to get the two of us back safely.

That was..two hours ago. Certainly had fun. It has always been fun going out, regardless of destination; and after awaiting for ten months now, I can freely drive.

Develop gills and drive on the bottom of the ocean to America.

You know you want to. We have lots of fat people you can mooch flab from. =]

And there weren’t as many grammatical errors as you anticipated in the first sentence. ;o I only came across maybe two.

Saki over and out. ;3
