29 Jun 2006 3:30 pmWatched Superman Returns in all his hideous external underwear-costume glory today with Andy and Geok Leng after we finished college today. We bought the tickets yesterday, predicting a truckload of humans invading the TGV cineplex on the premier day, and whoopeedoo got excellent center seats.
Superman, along with Power Rangers and Ultraman and Doraemon, was one of the superhero cartoon/movie/TV series I frequently watched. I probably could remember nothing of Superman prior to this movie save for the term ‘Kryptonite’, the radioactive material hazardous only to Superman. I don’t normally keep in touch with the Superman universe, which according to Wikipedia seems as complex as ever with Earth-Two and parallel dimensions and all that sci-fi jazz.
The movie was alright, didn’t entice me as much but for a superhero movie with human touches and qualities, it’s good, for a sequel after almost 2-3 decades. If you’re expecting to be dazzled with mountains of mind-boggling special effects you’ll probably be disappointed.
I love the actress who played Lois Lane, Kate Bosworth.

In a way, when Superman appeared at the exact moments when humans are in petty troubles, it’s the aura of security that the superbeing emits that makes everyone feels safe immediately.
In every world, we need a Superman.
In mine, I probably need a few of him and more.
I’m in that mood where I want a few Momos and something to cuddle up with. If only these Momos could talk.

Momo’s my friend’s pet dog, but I’m just referring to anything else that could and would comfort me. =]

That dog is hella cute. May I touch? ♥
And Superman is gay. Have you seen the comic book renditions of him? He’s the spitting image of a flamboyantly gay man.

Haha! Andy also asked the same thing, so I took the liberty to search and found the quote that you wanted. The same quote can be found in the 1978 Superman uttered by Superman’s father (the director Bryan Singer reproduced it in this movie), and here is the quote from Superman Returns.
