The Golden Nut

Went with Shawn at almost 12pm just now by bus to The Summit. I missed the good ol’ days when we were on our bi-weekly bowling Wednesdays when we’ll hitch a bus, or sit Shawn’s car, to said shopping complex to bowl. I miss it a lot. I miss the days long past.

We sat in this Mini Bus with absolutely no air conditioner, so yeah, it was pretty hot. We met up with Daniel, Kai Tzin, Heng and Jun Man at the Chatter Box Cafe near the cinema, where I ate my lunch. The chicken rice at RM3.50 was absolutely delicious - especially the sauce - despite it being a halal food (I have my reservations when it comes to halal stuffs, hehe).

We bought the 12.45pm ticket, and since we had a buy-one-free-one coupon, we only had to divide RM18 (it’s RM9 per ticket due to it being a public holiday - Prophet Muhammad’s birthday) between the four of us: me, Ding, Kai Tzin, Shawn.

Ice Age 2 is a hilarious show, and I especially like the computer-generated animation. For some reason - maybe I had too high of an expectation - it wasn’t as stupidly funny as I thought it would be. The ending was the bomb though, hahaha.. really darned creative of the producers.

We then went to this secluded Jasmin or someothername mamak at the end of the row (same row with Sushi King). We sat there, drank/ate, chit-chatted.. I wasn’t feeling particularly well, so I didn’t really feel like talking much especially since how my throat hurt.

We finally went back at about 4pm, where Shawn and I took the bus to our banks to do some ATM banking. Then.. we walked home. Reminiscently reminding us of the days when we’ll walk back from C.Y. Tan’s USJ9 Add Maths tuition. God I miss it. >_<

A piece of good news I hope would come true: I didn’t manage to get through Sin Chew in the morning (it being a public hol I suppose), but I phoned Transnational where a Malay girl informed me that I can change the date of my bus tickets! She didn’t say whether I need to pay a penalty fee or sommat.. but heck, whatever the penalty is is probably better than paying the full amount I suppose.

And after discussing it with Kai Shen - bless his kind heart - he said he wouldn’t mind giving up his next Tuesday’s KLIA Control Tower trip since he would prefer to go to church on Saturday. >.> After a complicated discussion we finally settled on a new date - 17th-20th April.

Which means I have to get to Puduraya the next day fast. Going alone or not, by hook or by crook, the tickets have to be changed.

That does not mean I wasn’t involved in some petty argument with my mum which let’s just say, involves shouting and crying and whatnot. I’m beginning to think the scholarship is some blessing in disguise - of a curse.

I’m pretty sure I’ve made some people agitated, frustrated, etcetc for the pursue of my own education and entertainment, but heck. We’ve made our own sacrifices, I’ve made my own sacrifices, so I hope we could put the past behind us and make our Tioman trip a blissfully enjoyable one.

Funny that in retrospect, everytime a vacation is planned in a huge scale as this (Langkawi comes to mind), there’s bound to be some trouble of some sort.
