8 Dec 2004 4:05 pmYesterday in the afternoon was at Jon’s house playing Xenosaga a bit, but as we couldn’t defeat the final boss after some levelling up 2 hours later, we gave up and played Maple Story instead XD. We were at his bro’s room; I was lying on the bed on the laptop while he was at the PC just next to the bed, and it’s really unusual to play together in-game side-by-side in real life like that XD
While playing, we talked about various things which includes the IMAX trip that we were planning. He suggested to stay overnight, and I agreed :D
Went back at almost 7pm, and went to his house again at 8.30pm. We then set out again with his dad about 10 minutes later and we went to a church member’s house; Jon’s dad fixed up some CPU-related stuffs for him or something, I think.
At 9.30pm, went to Shawn’s house and Jon’s dad installed the wireless router for his laptop. Works pretty good in fact, and went home an hour later.
Played Maple till um..2am - occasionally switching over to MSN to chat with Suet and Andy. I booked 6 seats for IMAX earlier on, as the rest has yet to confirm with me at that time – turns out Jessica and Heng Li can’t go as Jess’s sister came back and Heng Li’s dad refused to give him money. XD
Yeah, so 2 seats vacant.
We watched telly (some FIFA Futsal championship finals) and ate some snacks (chocolate biscuits, potato chips, Twisties). Spain won 2-1 against Italy, but I actually admire Italy for being able to chip in a goal at the last final minute (literally). Plus after Spain shot in their 2nd goal, Italy went all out and took a gamble, their goalkeeper went up too. XD (you rarely see these things, really)
So, we slept at almost 3am. I actually managed to sleep as well..yay, sleeping routine’s back to normal ^.^
My handphone’s alarm was set at 8am, and as it was above my head, I woke up to Utada’s Hotel Lobby >_> Took our bath, and played Maple a bit XD The 3 year old kid that Jon’s mother was babysitting (along with his sister) was slightly annoying - he kept pressing the Windows key and moved the mouse about >.>
Jon’s cousin Ellaine (or whatever the spelling is) who recently got back from New Zealand got persuaded by Suet to join us to IMAX XD One seat filled.
Jon’s dad fetched us to KTM, and we saw Chin Wei and Christian soon after; both were heading to Midvalley. Then while we were in the train, Joe phoned me and told me he’s coming but he just woke up o.O And yay, another seat filled ^_^
We reached Berjaya Times Square (BTS for short) at about 12pm, bought our tix (I had a nice DiGi priority queue ^_^) and the total was RM115, discounted RM5 ‘cause I had the mobile voucher thingy. We chose our lunch destination pretty quickly..at Long John Silver’s, and Joe arrived at BTS just when we were almost finishing the food.
So it was all on time ^_^
And the IMAX. Wow. I was excited like a little kid XD The screen is not as huge as I had imagined (DiGi’s website was a bit misleading..it said that the average IMAX screen was as big as an NFL football field ~_~), but still pretty huge compared to normal cinema standards.
The 3D effects. That made me giggle and smile like a little kid again, and I was found grabbing Andy’s arm (who was sitting next to me) and point at the screen repeatedly. It’s amazing to the point I’m left with my mouth agape and eyes wide open at the visually spectacular treat. And yeah, that is just the trailers. ;)
So about Polar Express..though the storyline is kinda mediocre (I have no idea what message this movie is trying to present: believe in Santa? or perhaps the Christmas spirit?). I enjoyed the rollercoaster-like scenes most of all, it’s..well, I actually share their excitement! XD (again, I feel like a little kid, reminiscing my days past XD)
There are also many scenes where the snow appears to drop right in front of you..and coupled with the rather cold air-con, it seems rather real to me XD
I love IMAX. You hear me? IMAX IMAX IMAX. Just heard from Jon that our IMAX is only 5 storeys high while the US’s IMAX is 7 storeys high..but still. It amazes me :D Sound system is alright..but not as loud as the US’s, apparently, and the seating is unlike the ones in the US - don’t really know how to describe it, but Jon said they had railings to prevent you from falling o.O
Yeah, so it’s RM20 well spent. And time passed so quickly that I thought the movie was short when it was actually 2 hours o.O
So currently I’m left tired and exhausted..we waited till Ellaine went back first (she looks kinda cute imho =)), at almost 5pm at Sungei Wang – the land of all the “lalas” XD.
Reached KL Sentral at 5:20pm, boarded KTM at 5:40-ish and reached at 6pm sharp. Dad fetched me to my Add Maths class (and the rest of my friends home) just on time.
I was sooo tired, and I think I stunk of sweat, that I couldn’t really concentrate much. Luckily he was doing function (fungsi), it’s fairly easy to understand (one of my fav topics, in fact :D) and he taught some ways that weren’t taught in books.
I’m still kinda irked by his arrogance. “My class is the most important thing in your life.” *spits*
