20 Oct 2005 2:48 pmIt has been raining almost the entire morning and afternoon today (so did a good part of yesterday), and Kai Shen mentioned earlier in class it was like “the sky is crying”.
Datin Seri Endon Mahmood succumbed to cancer at 7.55am today. Though I’m sure most of us will not know the Prime Minister’s wife at all, somehow I felt her death is of concern to me.
She is the pillar of strength for cancer victims and survivors, and the ray of hope for those who will live on. To be brave throughout the torturous cancer-inflicted years, to endure, and to live.
Ironically today at The Star newspaper, there was a news report on the suicide of a 50+ lady, who slit her wrists and left a Chinese note, and an English note saying, “I kill myself because of cancer.” I won’t want to comment that she’s cowardly for seeking such a way out, because if you have been in her shoes, you may not be able to tolerate the tremendous pain of it all.
I’ve seen my mum going through enough, and, there isn’t much to say.
