I started working again yesterday on March 1st at Shah Alam, together with Daniel, Teck Seng and Tarzan. Details were sketchy at first, but from what TS had been telling us repeatedly that it was a completely relaxing job, and with pay as high as RM7 per hour, who in their right mind would refuse such a job?

So we left Subang by TS’s dad’s Saga and headed for Shah Alam, reaching in about 20 minutes. We entered a factory area called Teong Nam, and all my visions of a comfortable-looking office came crushing down. On passing by a warehouse, I recollected some floating words from before that we might have to “carry heavy stuffs” and I hoped against hope that I won’t be up for some heavy labour for 16 hours ala Old Town Kopitiam.

When we got our punchcards, we punched them in, and waited outside for a while for our senior colleagues (who are not our supervisor). They drove us out (we went in two separate cars, one manual Saga and a Kelisa) and brought us to a Chinese restaurant for breakfast. And get this, that Chinese restaurant actually serves roti canai. LOL.

At about 10am, we left for UITM (or UTM, whichever) at their Shah Alam campus. We had to unload CPUs, LCD monitors and some lightning protector plugs from the lorry, a total of 120 CPUs. It wasn’t that bad as it sounds, as we had help from our senior colleagues and the lorry drivers themselves. Fucking relaxing I tell ya, although the carrying can get a bit tiring.

So finishing that, we had to plug in the CPUs and monitors together, which is when our job really began (Teck Seng used the term “CPU installer” when he described what the job was about). It involved the process of carrying the loads of CPUs and LCD monitors (which were delicate, and we had to be really careful or we risk working for several months to pay off the broken piece of visual equipment), setting them on the tables, unpacking them, and start connecting the cables - the power supply, mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

...

It took less than a minute to learn whatever we had to know.

Their network was down at one point, so we went off to the canteen and had a disgusting lunch there where Teck Seng and I was charged RM5 and RM4.50 respectively for food without rice, and drinks. We lepaked from 1pm till 2 something, chatting and laughing away like we were enjoying a sunny vacation down at post-flooded Shah Alam.

Our two senior colleagues were hilarious people themselves, and kept flashing the universal middle fingers at each other while driving side by side, in front and the back of each other, etcetc. Funny antics.

We, unfortunately, despite trying to slow down, finished the job early at 4pm, which meant no job for us till next Monday. Heh. But hey, gotta count our blessings don’t we? ;)

We went back to the factory, and lepaked further in a password-protected container-room till 5pm while waiting for Teck Seng’s dad. Getting highly paid for a miniscule job - albeit physical - where you can laze around and even play with your DS.. I’ve never been happier and glad working.

I slept till 7pm the moment I reached home, played DS till 8pm,
ate dinner, which is when my mum told me that the company I’m working for is a public-listed company, and highly popular that even both my mum and dad’s workplaces use the logistic company’s services.

Ding came over to my house at about 9 something or so, and we lepaked further, playing o2jam and such, till Andy picked us up. He passed his driving test. :) (but no P license received yet though!)

Went to Pizza Uno at 11 something, and what was supposed to be a surprise celebration turned out otherwise when Jessica, the birthday girl, uncovered Esther’s lies. Had the obligatory Secret Recipe birthday cake, ate/drank, and then waited for Esther to be ready to leave before we went to Syed Bistro near Jon’s house.

Service was horrible, what with the rude waiter. The nasi goreng pattaya Daniel had was tiny. Ew.

We went back at nearly 2am.

Obviously luck wasn’t on my side, as my camera’s batteries went dead the moment my first picture was snapped. I took a picture of my “workplace” earlier using TS’s awesome Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, Bluetoothed it to my phone and now I’m unable to upload it to my PC. Heh.

Unrelated news aside, the English version of the song Passion has been confirmed (ages ago actually, but was lazy to put it in) as Sanctuary. It was also reported that Utada wrote the lyrics for Sanctuary first, before embarking on Passion.

I watched a short Kingdom Hearts II trailer with a short soundclip of Sanctuary in it, and, it sounded a bit odd in English.

A beautiful pic I had to share from UTADA-Online.Net.
