Tong Xin Yuan

Do you know that there are plenty of Chinese serial dramas out there that focus on one thing and one thing alone: crycrycrycrycry in almost every damn episode. One of the finest examples of the Chinese drama that fall into this particular category is Tong Xin Yuan, available on AEC Channel 19 every weekday from 7pm to 8pm.

I sometimes do not have a choice, you see, when my mum watches it religiously every single day, and since my dining table is in fact in the living room (I rarely eat on the dining table), I watch that show in the name of improving my Mandarin. Look at how many words I learnt!

xin ku! kai xin! omg!

The ridiculousness of the storyline, and the fact that the family (it’s a show about a family business called Tong Xin Yuan, hence the name) encounters obstacle after obstacle in every way possible (brother took over company after mum suffers from Alzheimer’s, same brother loses ownership to his female cousin who slept with him; father died, twin freaking brother poses as dad, managing to fool almost everyone to milk money out of the family, yadayada) makes it so unbelievably stupid at times.

Heh. It’s like nobody’s happy at all.

Went out earlier today with Andy at 3.30pm, at first to Ding’s house to return a file but ended up staying for a while after he had to help his mum to print some important documents (ended up going to the cybercafe to do the job for RM3 =.=), then went to the USJ14 cybercafe behind my house (joined by WH). Apparently, it’s charging RM1 per hour only from 9am-5pm, heh. It probably felt threatened by the RM1.50 cybercafe.

Went back at 6pm, Ding ate his nasi lemak at my house, and he uh, proceeded to walk back home at almost 7pm (didn’t know that at first). Was waiting for my dad to come back with Matrix since I loathe driving hugehugehuge cars which are absolutely difficult to navigate with.

At 9.30pm, Jon phoned me asking if I’d like to join “cc” with Shawn and Heng at the RM1.50 cafe, and heck I agreed. Played at de_dust, where even when the 3 of us are against a lone Jon, we are defeated round after round. It’s so.. mind-boggling. @__@

Then after fetching Jon back at 11pm, Shawn fetched us to Maju-Maju for a bite till 12am.

Sounds like a pretty routine lifestyle I’m having these days, but hanging out with friends simply cures all that. Like a panacea.
