Learned that old Chinese classic in my piano class today – 月亮代表我的心 by Teresa Teng. It wasn’t that easy, but it wasn’t particularly hard either. As usual tons of practice would making playing through this song a breeze.. although that’s only applicable to my playing on the right hand – I’ve yet to attempt playing the accompaniment on my left.
Project 365 #14: Friday, 27th February 2009
I was sick since morning – already felt the onslaught of symptoms surfacing the night before (dunno if I caught it from Kenneth or from my family), and funnily enough I was chatting on MSN at about 2am with Rebecca briefly asking her if she had Kenneth’s MSN as I had a Law of Investment assignment question to ask, then she casually said that she assumed I’m not going for the extra class for the aforementioned subject if I’m online that late. I completely forgot!
Suffice to say when I woke up in the morning, my throat was a million knives, I felt my nose a-running and fever a-coming. When class ended at 11am, I went back home to be completely miserable because by then I felt like not doing anything but put myself in bed and sleep the entire day.
Of course I couldn’t – I had to struggle to finish just one concluding paragraph and touch up the rest of the assignment which took me nearly an hour plus for a simple task like that.

At about 6pm or so I decided not to nap immediately but take the chance to try and finish reading the final short story of Will Self’s Tough, Tough Toys for Tough, Tough Boys – a provocative, dark tale which was a sequel of sorts to his earlier short story in the same book. And about an hour plus later I managed to finish it, was left a little dissatisfied with how the story ended, but overall I enjoyed my little excursion to the seedy back lane of Will Self’s world, that dark side of the moon. His style of writing mayn’t be for all, but you gotta admit the way he plays around with words in his seemingly limitless range of vocab is impressive – dunno if I can find Self’s books locally or not (that particular book of his in my possession was bought from a second-hand bookstore at Khao San Road, Bangkok – and yes I was immensely drawn to the title), but I hope to read more of his wacky books!
As you can see from the picture, my bed is a tad bit messy what with all the books sprawled across on it, but yes, I do sleep with the files and the books on my bed rather comfortably.
