The cafe yesterday had a sudden lack of raw materials to cook with since morning, such as eggs, vege, mee, even rice, that customers that came in repeatedly kept complaining to our ears and that we should “close shop” in a very rude manner.
Haiyo, don’t like what little things we have to offer (which was only toast bread and nasi lemak at that time) then don’t even enter lah.
I swear we waiters are the first line of defence when it comes to being bombarded with painfully sharp complains. Whatever goes wrong in the kitchen or the bar is solely our fault alone.
In fact, during lunch hour, which is one of the two peak hours for this little quaint cafe, Daniel had to resort to stop people from coming in by halau-ing them by standing at the front entrance and proclaim that we only have toast bread left. Of course, the 2 billion customers that attempt to enter gruntled in dissatisfaction in front of his face, but it’s better than them entering and start making noise.
At one point he even recommended to one customer the newly-opened mamak stall just next to us and said that they should give it a try. Rofl.
Andy didn’t come today because he had to balik kampung. We were understaffed, again (more like poor Aye had to toast bread alone, which is exceptionally difficult especially when Adrian went off for his ‘break’), but somehow we managed it.
Yesterday was also the last day of our other supervisor, Ah Keong, and our two immediate senior colleagues, Ah Ying zhe and Ah Fong zhe. Dang. Apparently they beh tahan with the place as well, especially with our stupid boss Mr. Lee who, despite us being understaffed, continue to open more tables outside of the cafe to severely overwork us.
I can imagine what will happen if all of us start to quit in exodus just to spite him. Daniel’s apparently stopping as well (but he seemed uncertain about it too), and if all my funny colleagues who became my source of the cafe’s endurement were to quit, I might as well leave the forsaken place. We’ll see how Mr. Lee has to cope. :)
Can you imagine our joy and euphoria when we left the place at 5.45pm? We bade our simple goodbyes to one another. Prolly won’t see them again.

From left to right: Ah Fong, Ah Ying, Aye. Ah Ying curi makan! (that’s what we did, always, and since yesterday we were all rather free after shooing away potential complaining customers, I bancuh my own ice lemon tea [which turned out sucky, which was further improved by adding more spoons of sugar that would frighten diabetics. Woot.)

Daniel basuh pinggan, haha.. notice the blingbling he’s wearing on his left ear.
Went online after we reached home (Dan’s sis fetched me back), and we discussed what to do for the night. After several uncertainties, I finally put forward a simple Tanjung mamak idea and phoned up the rest.
Went to Summit with Daniel at 9pm because I want to get a last-minute new CNY clothes (mum forced to) and Dan wanted a new earring and want to rent some comics too.
Closed.
Should’ve anticipated it but the comic book store was closed, the earring stalls are all shut down, and the Crazeekausa (dunno how to spell it) shop was closed as well.
So the two of us ended up wandering around, at first for my clothes, but in the end I purchased nothing save for a pirated CD for Kai Shen. We both ended up at MPH and another magazine store, browsing through the mags there.
At about 10pm we left the place and went to Dan’s house instead to hang out before the proposed time of 11pm for the mamak striked.
After picking up other people and finally reaching at about 11.30pm, we settled down at a table and waited for Shawn and Heng to arrive. Saw my old best buddy Khairi, and Chin Wei, and Christian there too. o_o

Daniel’s blingbling, which he couldn’t poke through his ear for some reason (which stalled us at his house for a bit in the beginning).
Kai Shen, Jon and Esther (whom Shawn fetched from Pizza Uno slightly later) were there as well. This sorta gathering rarely happened.
Went back at 1.10am plus, which was a little too early imo. As Shawn was fetching back Esther and Jess and Heng, and I’m fetching the other guys home, we decided impulsively to go to the cybercafe behind my house to go for a 1-hour-plus CS session.
Quite fun ya know. :) Daniel-Kaishen-Waihong against Jon-Clem. Jon, as usual, is fucking good at it. >_> My kills were more than half of his.
We finally went back at almost 3am.
