I feel like these days I’m on some hip and happening streak or something – I’ve been going out so much with my friends, some of whom I’ve rarely went out together with this entire year until recently (as our schedules often conflicted), and it was fun – like summer sunshine and all manners of colourful, hot, tangible joy being released from the depths of my closet. Oh yeah, we’re on a roll.
Monday evening when Heng was already at my house, Suet, Jess, and Sarah dropped by for a while at my house before leaving at around 7pm.
And yesterday.. I was out from the house at 1.15pm when Suet arrived at my door with her younger sister and Jess, then picked up Heng and Andy before we stopped by at Tien Tien Fatt while those who had yet to eat their lunches ate. Jon dropped by too – and after Suet Teng was picked up by her friend, Heng and I followed Jon’s car while the rest follow Suet’s all the way to Pyramid.

Jon’s Mario toy in his car.
I normally don’t fancy shopping with girls because they generally take forever to shop after trying at least a dozen shoes/clothes, but thankfully some guys were around. We also dropped by at Starbucks to say hi to Kai Tzin, and later on as we walked into Machines, Ding called asking where we were and his first few words to me were, “Eh I need to pinjam duit” wtf.
Jon and I finally met up with him and Mei Yee at Starbucks as I was trying to go online for a while on Jon’s iPhone, then we went together to meet up with the rest at Padini’s Concept Store.

Random shot of my Crocs plus one of the pair of heels that Suet was trying on.

Mei Yee and Ding.

Me and Andy.
Jon went back early.. and long story short, initially after Ding was supposed to fetch Mei Yee back, he returned again fairly quickly minus Mei Yee as she took the bus her sister fetched her back. We then went into this Gasoline cafe at about 6pm for our dinner – a fairly funky one that has a pirate theme (the servers were dressed up as some pirate crew), and we were actually sitting on the floor of a dimly-lit interior.

Heng, Suet, Ding, Jess.

Jess, me, Andy.

Jess on a food rampage.

Suet looking at the bill which had some mistakes on it (we didn’t order a certain food).

My Gasoline Chicken Chop for RM12ish – the chicken was darned crunchy and very tasty!

A shot of Jessica – the cafe wasn’t this bright of course, but my flash unit was powerful enough to illuminate the scene.

Some of us after we were done with our food.

Everyone of us who were there, minus Jon who went back early.

Some random girls who were sitting behind us, and the girl in the middle who was the photographer (albeit a lousy one wtf ‘cause the shots turned out blurrish) kept mock-dropping my camera. =.=”

Ding tak layan me wtf.

Pretending to argue over something hahaha damn free lah we all.
And then we went back home.
..well at least that was the plan, ‘cause when Suet’s car stopped at Andy’s front gate, Suet was debating whether to continue going out some more or not and finally we decided on Shawn’s house. Ding dropped by immediately after, as did Jon much later.
After watching TV (and some replays on Yen’s new Astro recording machine similar to Astro Max, of Snoop Dogg and David Beckham wtf), we played this Mafia game using cards until 11pm. Lots of laughter and hilarity ensued – in the end Yen was our Judge (sort of a game master, if you will) for many rounds that followed.. though it was a stupid little game, we’ve had quite a lot of fun – for some reason it reminded me a lot of our incredulously stupid high school days and the dumb games we played.
And we were playing all these at the age of 20. Or 19. 18.

While we were participating in a group MSN chat yesterday night, I stumbled upon a few pictures in a local photography forum using what was termed as the Orton effect, named after the guy who “discovered” this post-processing technique. So I applied the Orton effect on a few Ulu Yam pictures, and the results were dreamy-like images, as if painted delicately by detailed strokes of a brush:

That emo pic of me and Suet – somehow I think it looks better with the Orton effect right??

Ding’s dark/emo pic.

The surrounding forest and the flowing river.

The Orton effect is not so pronounced here.
I discovered a bane in owning a DSLR: it takes hours to organise photos that were snapped without a thought and post-process them accordingly – once my college begins, I don’t think I’ve the luxury to spend that many hours going through the aforementioned process.
