17 Dec 2005 6:44 pmWent to Open Days of Monash and Sunway University at about 11.20am today (or yesterday, on technical-wise since it’s past midnight), with Heng and Andy. Spent most of our time there, met Eugene, Julia, and Ju-lien. With the counsellors they have there, I can’t help but feel that Taylor’s have better counsellors. The facilities they have weren’t quite convincing, even though Taylor’s is smaller in that respect, but Taylor’s, being most reputable for their School of Hospitality and Tourism seemed like the best choice.
Without a scholarship, whatever I want to pursue at colleges are doomed to fail. We can’t afford it. At least, my parents’re saving the money for my younger bro. >_>
I’m getting clueless and indecisive.
Also participated in this ‘career test’ which was a bit inaccurate (I’m supposedly good at managing and directing), and of the career suggestions for me is..as a bookkeeper? /swt
For lunch at 3pm, there wasn’t any parking space left near Ming Tien so we (including Ju-lien who joined us) ended up at Sunway Resort Hotel’s parking bay where we had to pay RM3. Ate a RM4.50 delicious bowl of beef balls, and sucky RM1.50 limau ais.
With our lunch done, we went to Taylor’s School of Hospitality and Tourism and it turned out to be.. closed! Just our luck, plus we had to pay RM2 for the parking fees at a horribly scary, dark and damp parking bay.
Reached home at about 5.
Was rather exhausted after all the driving, so after bathing, took a little nap till Andy came over at about 6.20pm.
We were supposed to see Wai Hong off at the airport today, but wanting to surprise him, Jon, Andy and I lied to him that we couldn’t come because of dinners with relatives plus other various activities. Shawn followed WH’s car as the decoy/spy, to inform us of his arrival, etc. Seriously, just to surprise him (pleasantly) we had to undergo a very elaborate plan.
Sped at the straight road leading to KLIA doing a hundred and thirty, and surprisingly, they reached the airport slightly later after us (from Shawn’s SMS).
The plan was to surprise him at the toilet. As it was quite rushed, although it wasn’t as what we had envisioned, it still worked. Shawn mis-called my handphone, signalling that he was bringing Wai Hong towards the targeted toilet, and we all hid somewhere near it. All captured on video here.

The first thing we did the moment we entered the airport was to find a suitable toilet. We chose the one next to The Body Shop.

Bored of waiting, we sat down somewhere and Andy snapped this silly-looking Superman toy.

Said toilet is also accessible near Royal Selangor at the other end.

The airport is beautiful. And large. The scenery outside is even more prettier, with loads of lights and other flashy displays.
After the surprise at the toilet (of all places), we went back at quite a distance to Wai Hong’s parents. Apparently Shawn made up some story that when he was at KLIA, he vandalised one of the toilet stalls and wanted to show him where exactly it was. Heh.

Wai Hong was also responsible to distribute the Lion of Subang Jaya’s newsletters to Subang Jaya youth exchangees.

Then we went to McD’s for our final meal together. k that sounded ominous. Wai Hong’s sis treated us to two packets of French Fries and drinks.

And off he went, like Suet Li did.
We bade goodbye to Wai Hong’s family (his mother was even crouching to see the last of her only son, after Wai Hong entered the escalator below). The group pics we took were from Wai Hong’s dad’s camera, so…
We went all the way to SS2 Murni. And let me tell you, that place has the fucking best food ever, and was worth every effort we made to go there.
It also started to rain the moment we sat down comfortably, after Shawn and Andy took some fried chicken.

Andy and Shawn had to eat while standing at the crowded corridor for a while.
I ate roti scramble, god it was heavenly. With the normal roti canai outside, they added chicken and eggs with a sausage in the middle, covered with mayonnaise. Jon’s cheese naan tasted what a real cheese naan should really taste like, full with cheese and dandy.
Costed me RM9.50 for the food and drink but again, worth it.

Picture doesn’t do it justice, but it was as crowded as ever.
Let Shawn drive the car home as I was quite tired and sleepy by then -- spent the entire day driving since morn’.
Spent a whole fucking lot today especially for the trip to the airport, and the rest I’m sure the same as we were supposed to share for the extremely high costs of highway tolls, parking fees and petrol, which, in the end, I ended up paying the last two alone. =__= Just great.
I withdrawn RM60 yesterday from my bank, and at the end of today, I was left with only RM27.
Joy.
At least Wai Hong was happy with our presence (he was initially sad that only Shawn could make it), and our little, carefully planned ‘surprise’.
He’d be gone for three weeks to the country he was wanting to go since forever - Japan - for the Youth Exchange programme like Suet. A seven-hour flight, apparently; and I can’t help but feel a little envious - to be in a foreign country, bringing back fresh experience and maybe find a little peace in oneself. I’m sure by now all of you know how much I really want to travel outside. Anywhere.
I WANT TO FUCKING FLY OVERSEAS DAMMIT.
Seeing off two friends to foreign lands.. it’s too much for me. ;_;

- demands a string of hearts, several seasoned travellers, and two pairs of sloppy sandals. More »
