Project 365 #15: Saturday, 28th February 2009
I wished both Bryan Chong and Chai Huey Happy Birthday on the stroke of midnight, the former’s birthday was actually on the 29th, but seeing that there isn’t any such date this year, well, it’s always a strange dilemma whether to celebrate on the 28th February or 1st March!

Both of us didn’t have dinner at home – Kai Tzin first asked me, and then we considered the remaining members of our gang for a dinner-gathering of sorts: Shawn, Andy, and Ding. Shawn had to go back to Ipoh that night itself, Andy had dinner with his family, while Ding preferred to do his assignment rather than spending quality time with “sausages”, in his words. Also I spotted my collegemate Roy who coincidentally was about to leave the restaurant 面对面 (Face to Face), SS15.

The restaurant that’s famous for their pan mee in SS15. Slightly pricier than typical restaurants (drinks even more so, so I nearly always bring my own bottle of water from college), but the food’s reasonably good, and there even isn’t any service charge or tax.

Right after our dinner at a little after 10pm where we spent a great deal of time talking (mostly on the subject of connections people make in life) that we were the last customers to leave, I then picked up Ding and Andy and off we went to Taipan in search of a place to yumcha at as it was drizzling at that time – else we’d have went straight to Tanjung. We decided to try PappaRich, a newly opened café in Taipan (well it had started operations for a few months already I reckon).

Excellent ambience, though I thought the price was a little more expensive than OldTown Kopitiam (a place I will NEVER return too, read here, here and here for interesting – that’s an understatement – anecdotes for when I worked at a place that breached several labour laws at once, not to mention with a pissed-poor pay too). But then again the environment was more comfortable, in my humble biased opinion, than OldTown probably due to much more comfortable seats.

Another look of the surroundings. I had 白开水 (plain water) for RM0.60 wtf.

Andy and I.
That very night too I was regretting the fact that I hadn’t considered my future more properly in the past – that I didn’t pursue my actual interest, that is languages and writing, else I’d probably be in a translating or journalism field right now (which was what I discussed extensively with my extended family on MSN). In fact, so gripped was I by this that I googled online till about 4.30am about studying French, Japanese, or Chinese in the respective countries wtf because that’s how you’d be able to improve your command of the language easily in maybe just 1 year. But of course the costs aren’t cheap – in fact, nearly almost as expensive as my 1 year in Australia. :/
‘course I also regretted not doing internships during my previous long summer holidays rather than spending it lazying around at home. Sigh. But then again during my previous holiday in December last year I actually took up piano and French, so that has to amount to something.. *hopeful
Project 365 #16: Sunday, 1st March 2009

Chris baby rang me up after he visited City Harvest Church or sommat in Sunway, so we met up at the same restaurant as we did last time at USJ 1. Caught up with each other – about time – after which I sat in his car to send him to the nearest Petronas before he fetched me back to my car.
Honestly the only thing I’m looking forward to this week is lunch with my collegemates (every Monday and Tuesday.. god that sounded pathetic wtf), my ‘date’ with Chris this Thursday, and a Movie Night on Friday with some friends. =)

Thanks for wishing me!
I really miss face to face’s pan mee! That’s my favourite shop of pan mee!! drooling But Subang’s face to face is not as good as in Kuchai Lama(near my area). The chilis is not as hot in Kuchai. If you are eating at Kuchai, you may bring a gallon of water there
